Throughout my education, I have been privileged to learn through the lenses of multiple disciplines when approaching even the most straightforward topics. Hence, I am enthused by criticism and feedback as they are new perspectives that take off the horse's blinders. The more mainstream and well-received the idea, the greater my interest is in the (often rare) critiques academics and individuals might make of it. This does not involve the abolishment of an idea completely but balances the scale of how effective the proposed idea truly is.
In a short response paper, I wrote in 2022 as part of a course on Design Thinking, I explored the arguments of Lee Vinsel, a professor of science technology and society and Virginia Tech, and his views on the "absurdity" of the Design Thinking approach.
Excerpts from my paper titled "Are DT Approaches Any Good?" are available below.
